Channel 7 (Boston) investigates phony florists.
As we mentioned before, Internet and Yellowpages are infested with phony “florists” who pretend to be mom-pop local florists, but in reality are neither local nor florist. They are deceptive telemarketers who simply take your order and, after subtracting a commission and fees, send the order out to a real florist who then makes and delivers the flower. Here’s an incomplete list of phony florists who pretend to be in Huntington. We do not knowingly fill the orders from therse phony “florists.”
Investigative reporter, Hank Phillippi Ryan, of WHDH Channel 7 of Boston, has done investigation of phony florists in Boston area. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time a TV station reported this serious problem in our industry. Here’s excerpts:
“Every time you order flowers, you could get ripped off instead. Hank Investigates a nationwide flower fakeout that’s set up to trick you into paying more and getting less. Will you be the next victim of the “Phony florists?”
If you have a fast Internet connection, a video clip is also available on their site (Click on “watch the video” just below the Title “Hank investigates”).
We at Flowers insolita applaud the wonderful job done by Ms Ryan and strongly encouarge news media in State of New York to follow the suit.
