You got frozen roses on the Valentine’s Day?

February 22nd, 2007 No comments

If you received frozen, dead roses on the Valentine’s Day from any florists (including 1-800-flowers, ProFlowers, FTD, etc), we will replace it for you at no charge. All we need is some kind of proof of purchase, such as receipt, email, packing slip, and so on.

Why are we taking care of the errors made by our competitors? Two reasons. Firstly, obviously, we want you to order from us in the future. Secondly, and more importantly, we don’t want you to think all the florists are the same, because we are not.

We knew, and every florist on the East Coast knew, that this Valentine’s Day was going to be a delivery nightmare because of the anticipated snow storm.

You see, we prepared for this. Not only did we persuade many customers to schedule the delivery on 13th, but also we hired extra drivers. We also called all the recipients before delivery to make sure that someone would be there to receive flowers. We didn’t leave flowers at a freezing temperature.

It was very difficult, but we managed to finish all the promised delivery on the Valentine’s Day. We are very proud of it.

So, if you got dead roses on the Valentine’s Day from any florist, just give us a call. We will show you what difference a real florist can make.

Freezing temperature expected for Valentine’s Day

February 8th, 2007 No comments

If you want us to deliver to a residential home, please schedule the delivery on the 13th so that we will have a two-day window for delivery. We will NOT leave flowers at a freezing temperature if no one is home!

According to a weather forecast, Huntington area will likely experience a rare freezing temperature for this year’s Valentine’s Day. Please note that we have the following policies for the deliveries when the outside temperature becomes below 35F.

(1) If the delivery goes to a residential house, we call the recipient first to make sure that someone is there to receive flowers.

(2) If we cannot get in touch with the recipient, we will leave a message and will not attempt to deliver until we get a response.

(3) If we go to the house but no one opens the door, we leave a delivery notice at the door and bring back the flowers to our store.

These policies are intended to make sure that our flowers will not be frozen dead.

If you are thinking to order a boxed roses over the Internet, please think again. These boxed roses will be delivered by a common carrier, such as Fedex. They will leave the box when no one is home, even if the temperature is freezing.

Here’s what happens when boxed roses are left at freezing temperature.

California flowers update

February 6th, 2007 No comments

The cold snap in California has affected the production of field crops (Stock, Larkspur, Delphinium, Snapdragon, etc).  The loss for Stock and Larkspur reached almost 100% inCentral and Northern California.

We expect a severe shortage of these flowers for Valentine’s Day.  Growers say they can meet only 25% of the normal holiday demand.

This is a very bad news if you want something other than roses.  We do have, however, enough tulips and lilies.
